I WRITE

(Noun, Verb)

Typography

The printed page will always be the most affordable place to experience a world in depth through someone else's eyes. It's also a medium that we take on in our time, in our own spaces. It's still amazing to me, to consider that I can carry around whole worlds in my backpack. I write in different ways - and while much of my work is for performance, this page is highlights some of the writing I do for people to read, without anyone's interpretation getting in the way.

MEN'S HEALTH

Here's a story about my dad that the fine folks at Men's Health felt was fit to put up.

FIFTY GRADES OF SHAY

I will always be proud of this project. In the height of the "Fifty Shades" craze, a friend of mine posted this to my facebook wall:
"What if you wrote a memoir about being in high school and released it online and called it 'Fifty Grades of Shay' --? I want you to know you have the option to do this."
I will always giggle at that post. And after about a weekend of laughing I thought "Hey - I've always wanted to write a novel. I'm gonna give myself a month, read Fifty Shades, and write a parody." A month (and a couple of days) later, I put this up on Amazon. It's a book about a dumb kid learning to love learning. If you're curious, give it a read.
